Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actress. She also sings. Sara Ramirez was brought up with her American mother. She was subjected to a variety of racist taunts, which caused her to feel uncomfortable. In her 9th grade when she began to gain confidence after being highly praised in an audition. It not only boosted her confidence but also shifted her goals for the future. At the age of 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 she began her career in Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman. Then, aged 23 she made her film debut in You've Got Mail. But her biggest break came when she starred in the part of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway show Spamalot garnering not only the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. In the following year, she was cast as the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. Alongside being an acclaimed singer she released a solo and an extended piece. She has also been an advocate for LGBT concerns.
